Demo Reel Winter 2021

Music

Title: 8 Bit Funny Music
By: AmirsonSounds

I wanted to create an uplifting positive energy, that excites people. I felt like this track did a good job conveying what kind of person I am and what kind of energy I can bring to a project. It is the kind of music that makes me want to get up and go on a virtual adventure.

Arcade Token/Logo

Maze of arcade machines

Old School arcade cabinet feel gets washed away and becomes logo. Transition into montage.

Opening

I wanted to give the opening an arcade like feel. I really love video games and I thought that. It would give people a quick understanding of what kind of person I am.

I was also trying ot capture the feeling of arriving at an arcade or booting up a video game and getting lost in a world of fun. Because in my eyes one of the biggest powers of animation is the ability for people to lose themselves and live in another reality if even for just a second.

Demo Reel

This is where it really becomes a demo reel and I just showcase all of the fun stuff I have had the opportunity to work on.

NÜDL

Another fun logo Animation I had the chance to take on. The logo was created and given to me but it was my project to spice it up and add some extra flair to it. So I added in some extra scenes and created a beach ball to really sell the fun that only pool noodles can provide.

Geometric Dance Party

Through School of Motion’s After Effects Kickstart I was given a prompt to create a 15 second animation. I had to choose from a few provided tracks and then design and animate shapes, making them “dance” to the chosen music. I got a retro video game feel from it and had my story follow the flow of the music.

School of Motion supplied the music, The design and all of the assets were created by me.

Ending

I wanted to take us back to the arcade we started in. But I wanted the excitement to continue building. So on the Arcade cabinet there are constantly changing animations.

We zoom out and see a new token on a thumb and it starts to vibrate because the energy is building. In frame 43 the token flips quickly through the air. The background changes from blue to white that takes us to the final logo lock up.

The text “Keep The Fun Alive” falls out from behind the token. Which I feel really captures the spirit of what I am trying to sell. I want to make the mundane into something fun and exciting.

Then the text falls off screen and instead we have the full logo take it’s place. The logo is the answer to the problem.
